I read this story on PUNCH and couldn't help but laugh my ass out! A man steals a N40,000 blackberry (from a moving okada at a busstop) and can only be bailed out on paying N100,000. Where's he supposed to find that?

A 25-year-old man, Ismaila Ibrahim, has been arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate's Court, Lagos for allegedly snatching a BlackBerry while riding a motorcycle.

The police said Ibrahim who rode with an accomplice now at large snatched the BlackBerry valued N40,000 belonging to Hamza Kayode at Oyebanji Junction, Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos.

Ibrahim allegedly carried out the offence on July 9 around 9:30 pm. His accomplice was said to have escaped on the motorcycle.

Ibrahim was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit felony and stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.

Police Prosecutor, Philip Osijale, said the offences were punishable under sections 409 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

Magistrate A.A. Adefulire admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in the like sum.

He said the surety must be gainfully employed and should furnish the court with verifiable residential and office addresses.

The case has been adjourned to July 30 for further hearing.
