A Global Comms Leader Helping Organisations In The UK And Africa Communicate For Impact.

NUC, na wa oh!

If you're a Nigerian student, you would know how important NUC is to our schools! It's been barely a few weeks since NUC suspended part time programmes in tertiary institutions all over the country, and now the National Universities Commission (NUC), has suspended the operational licenses of seven private universities. The reason being, they allegedly violated NUC's guidelines in physical facilities and academic programmes.

Ibrahim Yakassai, the Commission's Director of Press and Public Relations confirmed the suspension. He stated that the suspension was temporary because the affected universities had been previously warned. He however did not explain what would happen to the students of the institutions during the duration of the suspension.

The affected universities are: Lead City, Caritas, Joseph Ayo Babalola, Tansian, Madonna, Achievers and Obong.

Another source close to the NUC, disclosed that "the operators of the universities affected know their offences because so many times, we have informed them about their failings but they did not take necessary steps to address their shortcomings. Anyway, It's just a suspension and it will be lifted as soon as they do the correct things".

Nobody's talking about the students though!

I guess my readers from;Lead City, Caritas, Joseph Ayo Babalola, Tansian, Madonna, Achievers and Obong will be on a temporary holiday! Hopefully, this whole saga will die down before schools resume in september.

Na wa for Nigeria oh! Smh!
