The former vice president of Malawi; Joyce Bandu has now become the president of Malawi following the death of the president, Bingu wa Mutharika. He died on Thursday, April 5th at the age of 78 after a heart attack. Joyce Banda, was sworn into office yesterday, Saturday April 7th. The 62yr old president is the 2nd female president in Africa following Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia.
