A Global Comms Leader Helping Organisations In The UK And Africa Communicate For Impact.

I'm sure avid JK readers will just be tired when they see this post. Yes, I'm a huge TIMIX fan and I'm not shy to say it. I love to support my friends. Like Drake would say "no new friends". This post is about Timix's new video for Kowole featuring Dammy Krane. Y'all should download the track if you still haven't heard it. Of which, I should commend Dammy too. He's making waves and I'm proud of him.

For those of you that don't know London-born and Nigeria-raised, Timix, he is a rap artiste who produces sounds which expertly cut across genres. Though his passion for the performing arts was evident since he was four, he really began honing his rap skills in JSS2. When he made the shift from living at home in Anthony Village, Lagos state, to living at a boarding school in Ogun state, rap was his outlet for expressing the thoughts that accompanied this period of growth.

Oluwatimilehin Ajayi, at the age of nine, joined the church choir as a singer. Further development saw him picking up a guitar, and producing as well. Currently in the final stretch of an Entrepreneurship degree at Lancaster University in the UK, Timix has come a long way from the secondary school rap battles. Influenced by such artistes as Michael Jackson, Styl plus, Eminem and Lupe Fiasco, Timix's music has a narrative style that compliments his exploration of heartbreak, party lifestyles, his vision for Africa, and what it means to be young and aspiring in Naija today. His first mixtape, titled #MixedBreed, was released in 2011. The songs fused 80s and 90s rhythms and samples with his contemporary rap style. This brought him to the attention of A&Rs of record labels, and gained him recognition in the industry.

For Timix, the artistry of making music translates to his outer projection. With a very unique sense of style, supported by his flair for fashion, he has also gained significant popularity with his female audience. His drive partly comes from seeing the impact that music can have on people. To this end, he has begun producing his own work, and letting out his own unique message. In keeping with his vision, Timix also devotes his time to MIGMIE – Much Is Given Much is Expected. MIGMIE is a platform headed by a team of young creatives, aimed towards youth empowerment. Music is the vessel in the first phase of this plan.
